The July 4 Mental Buzzer 🛎️🇺🇸

Vacation plans. Time off. Pop sales shifting. Fireworks in the distance. July 4th is the mental buzzer I need to remind myself that, yes, summer is very much happening.

Don’t keep looking at your various screens or you’ll miss it.

I’ve got the words “These are the good ol’ days” written big on the wall in my office. It’s a whole chapter in my book. (currently on sale ... thanks AMAZON!)

But mostly it’s a perspective I’m constantly trying to embrace.

The world’s at an all-time high for change, bad news, and general uncertainty.

But my truth? My life has a lot of bright spots. And I think this might actually be the best part of the life I’ve got. It’s so easy to look back fondly.

But what if we could look at now that way, too?

That doesn’t mean you’re ignoring the world or pretending things aren’t hard. It just means you’re willing to take your time and actually enjoy your life.

Whether you’re barely making rent or stressing over which private school your kid might go to, you’ve gotta find a way to be happy with where you are. For some reason, summer does that for me.

It gives me a little more freedom, a little more perspective.

It feels like more me time—or at least not just work time. Lean in. But love it too.
